NOV 1913 – BIZANTINE REVOLUTION IN TURKEY
To the people of Europe,

After many centuries of control by the Ottomans, who brought war and destruction to all who dared oppose the belligerant Sultans, the people of the Turkish-Ottoman Empire rose against their rulers.

Willing to fight for their freedom, they took up arms and attacked the Sultan's palace in Nicaea. The Sultan's personal guard proved insufficient to repel the invaders, and the former ruler, Abdülhamit II, was captured.

In the wake of these events, the The Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Joaquin III took upon himself the duty of rebuilding the Empire. Many compare him to Constantine the Great, who became the first Christian emperor and set the foundations for our Empire.

With the fall of the Ottomans, our Empire is to be renamed as the Turkish-Byzantine Christian Empire. His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Joaquin III sees himself as a guide to men's faith, a man of religion, and so has expressed his desire that his archbishops take upon their hands the burden of international politics.

That said, we position ourselves as leaders of the Turkish-Byzantine Christian Empire and declare the Turkish embassies on Europe open to contact under the new government.

In the name of God and His all Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Joaquin III,

Aderus Alkhayyat
Archbishop of Antioch

Andreas Chalom
Archbishop of Jerusalem

Raphaelios Havenoi
Archbishop of Damascus

DEC 1913 - YOUR SUNDAY MORNING NOTES AND NEWS FROM EUROPE
By Demian G. - The Times, London.

Euro-Notes

Vienna, Dec 14.
Francis Joseph I, Emperor of the great Austro-Hungary Empire is relentless to the modernization of it's army and states that "Horse powered army have brought great success to all other great empires and why change now".
The generals of the Emperor do not agree and are sending engineers all over Europe to find answers of their own and then apply them to their armies.
Tactic that now it is blossoming a modernization of the Austro-Hungary Army.

Kiel, Dec 15.
Wilhelm I, "The Kaiser", is pushing his "militarism" full speed for what the Germans call the Tripitz Plan (named after the Secretary of State for the Navy, Alfred Von Tripitz),  and it is simply to build a navy worth to compete with the UK Royal Navy.
From 1897 this plan have been implemented and now in 1900 with further action this plan is gaining strenght with new boats in the sea.
This is a change from what Otto Von Bismark envisioned with his cordial relations with the UK.

Istanbul, Dec 12.
Joaquin III, The Ecumenical Patriarch of the Turkish-Byzantine Christian Empire recently ascended the ranks afther the internal revolution that put away the Turkish-Ottoman empire and sent to one of the darkest corners of the world their former Sultan and ruler Abdülhamit II.
The Sultan is imprisoned into one of the oldest and creepiest jails of the world in Istanbul. Only God knows the terrible conditions in there.
Joaquin III been advised by the 3 Archbishops of Jerusalem, Damascus and Antioch all from a small area south of Istanbul and some foreign fellow reporters say that between them will rule the faiths of the Turkish-Byzantine Empire.

Sunday Chronicles.

Luxemburg, Dec 16.
The new century... the new Europe?
It`s been 2 weeks after the turn on to the next century, but the center of the world is in turmoil if we Europeans can not see it, then we will deserve what can be upon us.
I will lay for you some examples and then you can see my conclusion at the end, intelligent readers will take precautions (if there is any) and the more naive and occasional reader will do nothing.
Nationalism extended over borders and regions. All through Europe we can see the signs all over the place, we can see that in the Balkans where is so much tension that you can cut it with a knife, make slices and wrap it and take it later when you are more relaxed, you can see it over mother Russia where the people struggles over a slice of bread while it's aristocracy don`t bother over anything, you can see it in the just recent quick fix revolution at the "non European" Turkish Empire.
It is building and provides all regions within and over nations with a dangerous fuel that can ignite with the heat over a discussion.
But, leave this fervent nationalism for the moment at one side.
Take the nations long overdue arrangement on old rivaleries and unresolved disputes over land, past battles and conflicts, recent points of view or simply their foreign and internal affairs, let's be honest all European nations mingle with everybody's affairs.
2nd ingredient on our New Century Europe recepy.
Alliances and polirized governments.
All Europeans have our friends and foes, internal and external. Governments that have the alter ego driving their duties and there you have our 3rd ingredient.
And the last of the ingredients, Communication, misunderstandings. This, my fellow readers, is the most volatile of all ingredients, but my question is... is
it really misunderstandings? or is the will of not listen and understand each other.
We live in Europe, we have lived for centuries and we all have our little town to care of and we don't want anybody to tell us what to do or think (even our fellow nearby towns).
Now the mix of the ingredients.
In an intolerance bowl mix some of the old disputes and rivaleries, add some Exacerbated Nationalism in liquid form, mix it with some local liquor (the one of your preference and delight, make this mix on a local pub, brewery or on a dance bowl on the palace).
Mix in a different room the following: Take this friendships and tone them up one or two notches and you have an alliance that will go all the way. If you want some silly and dumb promises and a unconditional all or nothing attitude add some liquor into the mix.
Now have this mixed ingredients brought into a conference table and just spill that lack of communication, have the misunderstandings float on each mix and then just spell all into the center of the table.
Then we have it, the new Europe will be formed over conflict.
You have been warned, take your precautions and plan for your future with this in mind.

DIC 1913 - LA GAZZETTA TICINESE
Lugano 20 dicembre

DEC 1913 - Antioch - Joaquin III died
To the nations of Europe,

God has called His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Joaquin III to his side. Although not fully unexpected, as His All Holiness was almost 90 years old, these news came in a moment where the Ecumenical Patriarch would be most needed by his people.

Fortunately, the Archbishops were already gathering for a conclave, following His All Holiness' announcement that three of his Archbishops take control of our Empire's political aspects.

The Archbishops met in Nicaea after the funeral services of the late Patriarch. The First Conclave of Nicaea was to elect Joaquin III's sucessor and appoint one of the Archbishops the title of Governor of Arms of the Turkish-Byzantine Empire.

It took the Archbishops thirteen days to agree on a name to ascend to the title of Ecumenical Patriarch. Germanus V, after his acceptance, claimed he wishes to follow Joaquin III's policy of attending to our Empire's religious issues, and leave international politics for a group of elected Archbishops, so the conclave continued.

After five more days of argumentation, discussion and negotiation, it has been decided by a significant majority that His Beatitude the Archbishop of Jerusalem, Andreas Chalom, is to receive the grace and honor of representing the Turkish-Byzantine Christian Empire among the other great nations of Europe. Along with the title of Governor of Arms, His Beatitude has become the first in command on the Turkish-Byzantine Imperial Army.

In a brief note to the press, His Beatitude the Archbishop of Jerusalem has manifested his wish of cooperation between the different social sectors of Turkey to the greater good of our Empire.

It is expected that His Beatitude the Archbishop of Jerusalem will make a statement nominating two other Archbishops to the titles of Great Admiral and General Consul within the week.

In the name of God and His All Holiness the Ecumenical Patriarch Germanus V,
Aderus Alkhayyat
Archbishop of Antioch

DEC 1913 - FREEZING WINTER FOR EUROPE
The freezing winter is isolating many European cities and Countries. The British Government announced that the Prime Minister was isolated buy snow storms while resting in a Central England mansion after the electoral success. Consequently, the formation of the Cabinet has been delayed. Same delay has been registered in Saint Petersburg, as the frozen Baltic Sea made it impossible to assign the charge of Minister of the Navy. Snow also bit the Editorial Minister of Austria-Hungary, who will remain isolated in his village in Tyrol at least until the end of the week. The international press could not enter in telegraphic contact with Germany as cable communications with Berlin have been cut by snow storms. Finally, Switzerland has been completely isolated for two weeks; only today some Red Cross primary help arrived to Bern, but it is impossible to say how much time it will take to have news from Switzerland out to the world.

FEB 1914 - LA GAZZETTA TICINESE - ANALISI DI M.
Lugano, 20 febbraio.
If they need our protection, they have all our support.”

FEB 1914 – AUSTRIAN PRESS RELEASE (written Dec 1913)
Vienna, December 24, 1900, Imperial Palace (EDItorial Press)Goblin Diplomat
The guards outside of the Schonbrunn Palace have been trained from the moment of their assignment to salute and recognize the title, status, nobility of the Habsburgs and their ministers without portrayal of personal acknowledgment. This Christmas Eve High Ball was to be a severe test to them all. Just before midnight appearing as if out of a wavering shadow in mid air stepped the diminutive figure dressed in the most resplendent red coat with gold buttons, the bright blue sash of a Minister with the undeniable one of a kind Star of Power upon its center with the soul shaking sigil of The EDItor: a pen dropping writing hand with a knife piercing through it. His black top hat with gold trim and the double-headed eagle emblem gave the guards an eerie feeling as if the eyes watched them as the figure walked past, its unusually long feet making no sound on the marble floor despite its matt leather boot and squared golden buckle slipping left and right reflecting ! the gaslights from the high entrance hall. If that was not enough to test them then there was the bony green skinned fellow within the uniform, a snarl on his face under a long hooked nose. His hands more claw and talon like with yellow bronzed burnished nails that could only belong to a Goblin. Taken to the edge of control by such an appearance the guards turned their salute and yielded protocols to the Captain of the Guard who directed the Minister up the great stairs to the Master Ballroom. As the towering Captain viewed the minister moving away he caught a glance at the seal on the scroll parchment grasped behind the Minister and he passed beyond the edge of control. Stuttering and shaking he stepped backwards against the stair column knocking his helmet down the entrance steps as he muttered….it comes from…it awakes again; Bir, Bir….BirSauron.

JUN 1914 - BREAKING NEWS - RUMORS OF REVOLUTION IN RUSSIA
ST. PETERSBURG - Rumors say that the Russian elections (in which Andrëw was elected) have been annulled by a coup d'état led by Matteo. We're expecting more news to be published. The elected premier Andrëw never showed in public after his elections and rumors say he could have died.

JUN 1914 – REVOLUTIONARY RUSSIA SPEAKS TO EUROPE
To all people of all Russia,
as
you know, our prime Minister was shot down by unknown hired killer.
An inquiry carried out from an imperial committee lays the blame for the incident on Foreign Power’s conspiracy.
However my party and I don’t share the committee’s opinion and we think a reactionary hand hides itself behind this murder.
Our Premier was studying revolutionary bills to improve life quality of Russian people, giving more democracy and freedom at our country.
Obviously this project was hostile to aristocracy and the imperial family, therefore we think they schemed this crime.

For these reasons a national committee declared:

1. The Czar is relieved from his role and he has been confined with his family in a small Siberian town.
2. All aristocratic titles are avoid and every noblemen will be stood trial by the Revolutionary Tribunal.
3. The Duma is deprived of authority and all powers belong to the people that exercises them by the Revolutionary Committee.
4. All banking system, heavy industry and activities that have national importance are nationalized.
5. The Russian Empire is now called “Union of Revolutionary Russian Republics” URRR

6. Country government is entrust at “National Revolutionary Committee” and the triumvirate is its expression.

The Committee is going to work for Russian people welfare and it works to rid every European Countries of own dictatorial regimes.

Mr. Matteo is the “First Triumvir for life of National Revolutionary Committee”, as well as “Marshal of the Revolutionary Army”;
Mr. Fabrizio is nominated “First Admiral of the URR and vice PM”;
Mr. Andrews is nominated “Supreme Spokesman of the Revolutionary Committee and Secretary of the URRR”

Long Life at the Permanent Revolution!
Long Life at the Revolutionary Committee!
Long Life at the Union!

JUL 1914 - FORCES CIRCLE BELGIUM OPERATION TO FOLLOW?
Brussels, (EDItorial Free Press) September 1914;Doctor
From the shoreline at Zeebruggee the sounds of the crashing waves remain as steady a drumbeat as the thunderous pronouncements out of Berlin, London and Paris. To the south of the city there are reports of the French First Army marching north with this city reported unofficially as the first objective in their attempt to sweep the coastline and then head inwards to Brussels. Meanwhile the British fleet in the North Sea is reported as feinting towards Norway in expectation of a plunge into the mouth of the Schelt towards Antwerp. The German High Seas fleet already off shore at Rotterdam is gathering maps and reconnoitering the borderlands for possible German marine incursions. Reports of a clash in the English Channel between British and French squadrons, has been widely reported but with no casualty reports and no formal declaration of war the air of uncertainty in this lowlands area is only heightened.
Lacking an official voice in the power struggles ranging between the top seven European countries, and its own armed forces hardly able to slow down let along stop one of the major power's industrialized armies, the Belgians are expected to hope that the various forces arraigned against their independence will cancel each other out in threatening moves that will spare them of a direct invasion and battle on their soil. The Belgians, often divided between the pro French Walloons and the Flemish independents have not been able to put aside their language and culture divisions in the present crisis and already the accusations of 'Treason' is being tossed about casually in conversation at market stalls and train station conversations throughout the small country. It may take another century, or two, before Europeans will discover that they have to put more of an emphasis on what they have in common rather than what divides them to bring peace and stability to what has otherwise been the most war wracked continent in human history.
Meanwhile in the Namur region there has been an odd report of either the relocation of the Walloon blood supply surplus or its emptying overnight. The local Austrian EDItorial reported has been unable to be reached for further comment in the region.

JAN 1915 - RESHUFFLE IN THE AUSTRO-HUNGARIAN GOVERNMENT

JAN 1915 - TURKISH FLEET SPOTTED IN THE AEGEAN, CHANGE OF COMMAND AT AUSTRIAN NAVAL BASE
January 22, 1915, Piraeus, Greece (EDItorial Ministry Press)Turkish Fleet
In a brief ceremony on the docks of Piraeus, the EDItorial Minister was given command of the Austrian fleet. Orders have been issued for a new uniform for the fleet that describes an outfit in red with a 'half shirt' and low-rider bell bottoms. Hungarian sailors are allowed to substitute light blue bottoms trimmed in red as a concession to the ethnic diversity in the Austrian forces.
Latter that day the new Admiral was seen in the Parthenon apparently talking to shadows there: 'I thought that they said navel commander...' his right hand going reflexively to the inside of his shirt in a near Napoleonic pose.
Rumors that large numbers of sailors were hanging out in Pizza Palaces have been confirmed when the admiral went on a ship inspection and slipped on a pepperoni slice as he was whistled aboard.
Meanwhile the admiralty had collected a new photograph of the Turkish fleet as it entered the Aegean from Constantinople. 'Rather cute little fellows, and I most heartly approve of the red covering on their beak guns. But what are they doing here?' the Admiral was reported as saying.
The engineering staff was in the meantime trying to collect large amounts of marble in case there was to be a marble contest as well as a rubber ducky race in the upcoming campaign season.

MAR 1915 - OFFICIAL MILITARY GAZETTE OF THE REVOLUTION
First published in Minsk, 14th December 1914
European friends,
Europe is shaken up by war and despotism. Innocent people are sent to dead for the usually group’s greed.
But we are today to celebrate many Russian heroes, fallen not for those false ideals.
These thousands of people are dead to bring revolution and the freedom to the near countries, defending the Total Revolution.
Therefore, the Republican Swedish Party, asked our assistance month ago and we helped they just cause. The 1st Artic Fleet bombarded Stockholm while local revolutionary unit was storming the Royal Palace.
King Gustav V is in custody now and a little convoy escort him to Murmansk’s port and he will be transferred  in a secret locality. Furthermore any male of the Royal family is exiled from Sweden together with aristocratic families that will not swear eternal allegiance at new Democratic Republic of Sweden. President of the Republic will be a member of the Russian National Revolutionary Committee ad interim.
Today we pay homage to our heroes that fell in Romania in trench and guerrilla warfare too. They died, with many sailors, to get ride the country from King Ferdinando, reactionary tyrant.
A revolutionary task force captured him and they took him to an armored train bound for Novosibirsk.
The N.R. Committee took similar safety precautions like in Sweden and the local committee proclaimed the new Republic of People of Romania and the people elected a coalition government, supported by 4.000 Revolutionary Russian advisors.
We hope hostilities will end up quickly in all Europe and every people can be free.
In the meantime we express gratitude for the Revolutionaries and remember: although it can seem an absurd fight, you cannot ignore that Absurd challenge us to drive so that we are able to be proud of ourselves.
Long Life the Revolution!
Long Life the Revolutionary Committee!
Long Life the Triumvirs!
Hurrah!

MAY 1915 - ITALIAN DECLARATION: "CARTHAGO DELENDA EST"
As the roman senator Cato used to say: "delenda est Carthago", that is, Carthage must be destroyed. Scipìo accomplished this sentence in the name of the Roman Republic. Now, more than 2000 years later, the government of the Kingdom of Italy thanks our fleet for returning the might of Rome once again to the African shores. So Italy has recovered the other half of the Mare Nostrum and will annex the Province of Tunis to our Kingdom.

But our glory does not rely only on our mighty fleet. The powerful Italian army has just stopped an unjustified and coward aggression on the north of our country, led by the German army and supported by our supposedly good neighbours from Austria. Our defenses stood still and repelled this aggression. Our government will not retaliate, because this will only generate a spiral of violence that might led to a general war in Europe. However, the government of Italy demands the withdrawal of the German troops of Tyrol and a public apology from the government of Germany and Austria.

Expecting the apology of the apology of the aggressors,
Long live the Italian Kingdom,

Sebastian Tapia
Minister of Foreign Affairs
Spokesman of the Italian Government

JUN 1915 - SERIOUS COMMUNICATION FAILURES IN THE WEST
Trieste (Sort-a-Free Austrian Press) - In a revelation from the halls of the EDItorial policy for the Austrian government a notice of retraction was issued on the Fall 1914 EDItion of the General Orders to the Western Field Forces. Apparently the proper line was suppose to be Army Trieste Supports Army Venice from the Tyrolians... however a rather robust Halloween Party caused a few too many bleary eyes in the Slovenian staff at the printing office that morning the words were reset as Army Trieste Supports Army Tyrolia to Venice. The EDItorial policy sincerely regrets any inconvenience as well disruption of noise levels along the Adriatic Coast.
Clearly the intentions of the German army was just to be passing through the area without any hostile intent and that the Austrians were standing shoulder to shoulder with their long standing Italian neighbors in regard to incursions from the north.

After rocambolesque fightings, the Archbishop of Antioch, Aderus Alkhayyat, and the Archbishop of Damascus, Raphaelios Havenoi, got power in Turkey in an unexpected coup-d'état. The fate of the former Chief of Government and Archbishop of Jerusalem, Andreas Chalom, is still unknown. Rumors garantee that the new Chief og Government will be Aderus Alkhayat, but there's no indication on the formation of the Cabinet.

SEP 1915 - RASPUTIN MOLESTED TURKISH FLEETRasputin molesting Turkish Fleet
(Austrian Free Press)
Historians doing research on the odd death of Rasputin last decade discovered photographic evidence of Rasputin's crazed obsession with the Turkish fleet. It is now believed that the wild rumors of his dalliance with the fleet may have had a substantial basis in fact. There is no doubt that the Russian fleet forces have a particularly intense dislike for the Ottoman fleets around the Black Sea. Now it is believed that it could be a historic echo of the jilted lower naval officers who have now reached an advanced rank in the Black Sea Fleet. The deranged mind of Rasputin and his equally bizarre death sequence according to autopsy reports may have originated in Sevastapol. The researchers claim that the reports were remarked as being from Saint Petersburg for the record to throw off the identity of the perpetrators which may have been a joint Russian/Turkish effort by orthodox elite officers to put an end to the molestation of the lower ranks by the mystic leech.

SEP 1915 - ADERUS ANNOUNCES TURKISH CABINET

JAN 1916 – THE REMOVAL OF THE ADMIRALWizardress
'Seance In Constaninople results in removal of Admiral night before attack.'
Oct. 7 1915 (Freer Austrian Press) The rather easy Russian-Austro victory that caught the Turkish fleet tied up to the docks and unprepared for the Battle of the Dardenelles was the result of a mystic intervention arranged they say by the Austrian Shadow Hand. It would seem that the wife of the Admiral had died the week before and at the request of her brother a seance was called for with the renown mystic Madame Nasrib of Ide recently from Eastern Transylvania along the Birsa River valley.
During the seance the ghost of the wife was brought forth and told the following story:
Upon arriving beyond the shadowlands of this world she caught up with a women who directly in front of her on the line to go through to the 'other side'. They spoke and she asked how she had died? The woman told her that she had frozen to death. The wife asked how that felt and the woman said 'well, at first I was fairly shaky but then as the cold set in I fell asleep and that was that.'
'What about you?' asked the woman.
'Well I came home unexpected early and saw my husband Admiral Hassan, on the sofa with a newspaper upside down and the radio on a strange station. I was convinced there was another women in the house and I ran upstairs to go through the bedrooms and searched in the closets and then ran downstairs to the basement and through the cellar and finally ran back to the mainfloor where I had a massive heart attack and died.'
'Hmmmm' said the women, 'so if you had started by checking the freezer we would both be alive!'
When the brother of the wife heard this he was furious, dragging the Admiral out of the house; and neither he nor the admiral were seen thereafter.

JAN 1916 – 1ST TRIUMVIR’S ORATION AT THE 1ST CONGRESS OF THE NRC
Moscow, 27th October (published on January 1916)
Dear friends,
I’m happy to find you here, at the 1st Congress of the National Revolutionary Committee.
And I’m happy to inform you about the our progress concerning the diffusion of the democratic ideals.
I know… many men and women died for this project, but everybody will remember them like heroes and we will able to narrate their deeds to our sons and nieces.
The end of the war is not so far and many people will be able to live in freedom, thanks to our struggle and sacrifice.
Like you can see, the Turkish government is inexistent and our Revolutionary troops are going to free that population from their tyrannical theocracy.
Hence I can affirm we will proclaim a Republic in Turkey as soon as possible, like we did in Sweden and Romania some months ago.[…]
Swedish people must thank for your freedom also us and especially our 2nd triumvir, Citizen Fabrizio. He was able to lead our fleet during these months, concluding his mission that I assigned.
Whereas he completed his work brilliantly, this Congress expresses good wishes to him and I am assigning another duty: he will have to coordinate the foreign Revolutionary unions to help them by money and logistic support. On a parallel plane he will monitor that none betray the Revolutionary ideal in our Country, perhaps some mutinous misled by some despotic countries’ agent.
Hence he will be the governor of the Siberian region, where we built many work-camps.

The Fleet Command will be entrusted at Mr. Andrew, 3rd triumvir and Supreme Spokesman.
Though his actions often are not so in prominence, he is working very hard for the Revolution and he is the aptest for that rule in this sever moment.

Concerning to me, I will have the rule that people gave me and I am going to defend the Revolution with honour.[…]

1st Congress of the National Revolutionary Committee.

Matteo

MAR 1916 – TURKISH STATE IN DISBAND
Archbishop Raphaélios Havénoi fled to Cyprus with the remainder of his fleet. There he was received by the Knights Hospitallers of Saint John and sent to Jerusalem, where he has been claimed to its Grand Mastership. Together with other Christian Orders, formed a Resistance Partisan Army and can still hold control of Armenia, Syria, Palestine, Iraq, Hejaz and Yemen, the now called Eastern Byzantine Ottoman Empire.

Athens, Iraklion, Nicosia, Baghdad, Kirkuk, Aleppo, Mosul, Jerusalem, Gaza, Acre, Damascus, Amman and advanced post of Trabizon shelter the Hospitallers’ Partisan Army (HPA), who assures England that military exercises on Cyprus will protect civil population and its English administration.

Grand Master Raphaélios is monetarily supporting the Greek forces and tactically and ideologically sided with Italy against the tyranny of Russian and Austro-Hungarian Empires over Turkey and the Balkans.

He has called Archbishop Andréas Chalom to Jerusalem to take head of the Eastern Christian Church, still under Germanus V sovereignty. And call on God to give forces to Governor of Arms Aderus Al-Khayyat to keep the Greek stronghold from where to expel Turkey’s enemies from Europe!

Russia and Austro-Hungary are acting against God’s will and oppressing Turkish Christians and general population, so Alamut Assassins have been granted free pass through the Eastern Byzantine Ottoman Empire to reach and act over its borders in Turkey, the Balkans,  Austria, Hungary and Russia. Terrorism is now a legitimate weapon of HPA.

In the name of God and His Beatitude Germanus V,
HPA Speaker, in Jerusalem.

Come commenta?
Nessuno deve rimanere indietro, tutti devono accedere a tutti i servizi e risorse.

NOV 1916 - VATICAN REPORTS POPE'S DREAMPope's dream
(BudaPEST, Austrian EDItorial Press)
In a stunning revelation the Transylvanian minister returned from a trip to Rome to report on a conversation with the Pope's secretary.
It appears that the Pope, after reviewing the world diplomatic situation had a vision in his dream: God was walking away from the latest crushing of the devils in the football match when Satan ran after him and issued a new challenge: "football is a game for weak willed sissy's, however a real game is Diplomacy, we will destroy you in it." God laughed, "still haven't learned, you'll lose again...as always." To which the Devil replied, "Got Ya, I will have all the best players since they are the greatest liars, back stabbers, cheaters, not to mention lawyers." To which God replied with a smile: "But the GamesMasters are all my people."

JAN 1917 - EXCERPTS FROM A PUBLIC SPEECH OF THE FIRST TRIUMVIR MATTEO
"Citiziens,
[..]
I am proud to declare the newest Revolutionary Army's success.
The National Revolutionary Committee met in August to solve some troubles.
A vote determined that the the Austrian occupation in Bulgaria and Hungary was illegitimate and therefore the NRC ordered the triumvirate to free the people from oppression.
The triumvirate respected the people's will and it can affirm now that Romania, Bulgaria and Hungary are united in the "Federation of the Democratic Slavic Republics" and the new capital city is set in Bucarest.

The Revolutionary Army freed also Smyrna and now the NRC proclaimed "the Arab Protectorate" and I have just sent a colonel to organize the region and he is already in Damas.
Mr. Fabrizio is taking care of  to crush riotous organizations and it will be built new working-camps in Siberia [...]"

JAN 1917 - THE UNITED KINGDOM DECLARES WAR ON FRANCE
“The government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland has always worked to prevent war and maintain the peace in our continent, but unfortunately, all our effort was in vain.
Since the beginning of 1914, the British forces are suffering various attacks from a foreign power, resulting in a defensive campaign of our navy in a way to protect our country.
The French action is hard and continuous. Even under a difficult attack, our government worked in a way to solve this problem in a diplomatic manner, but once more time, all our effort was in vain. The French government did not give up to attack our navy in the English Channel.
Besides this action, United Kingdom and Belgium had signed a defensive agreement, The Treaty of Brussels, that established a British defense of Belgium’s borders, and in which its art. 5th established that any attack to Belgium would be considered an attack to the UK, and in this way, our country would be free to begin a war campaign against who begins the conflict.
After the election of the new French government, once more time, we tried to achieve peace, but we did not get success.
So under that instrument of international law, we do not have another alternative, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland must declare war on France.
May god protect us!

King George V
by the Grace of God, of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and of the British Dominions beyond the Seas King,
Defender of the Faith,
Emperor of India."

FEB 1917 - VIENNA CHANGES ITS AMBASSADOR TO ROME
"Considering that typical Hapsburg Diplomacy has seemed to have failed in Rome, the Transylvania branch has been called up to provide a new Ambassador to the Italian Government. Mr Edi is happy to accept the appointment. The Austro-Hungarian Government thanks and wishes him any possible success."

MAR 1917 - CALLS FROM THE TRANSYLVANIAN HILLSSkull Cave
(Vienna) - EDItorial Press - The crypt's at the edge of the forests leading east from Vienna are draped in black with a white trim with the exception of one. A little off the main road up a slight slope behind some White Ash trees. There rests a single stone doorway in a rocky knoll hardly noticed until you nearly fall onto it. The grounds about it are disturbed by the narrow long footprints that could only come from the Eastern Goblins that have been seen often enough around the service entrances of the Ambassador to London and various Pizza shops on the right bank of the Danube. If one could penetrate the monolith that stood for a doorway and was visible only to enchanted eyes or thoughts, you would come to a mirrored hall that held no reflections like a kaleidoscope gone color blind. Beyond the distance stealing perspective was a floating coffin surrounded by a swirling mist. Inside the coffin was emptiness, not just of space, but of the very essence of this world. On the side a small set of steps rose up through the mist leaning against the coffin lid which was slightly ajar. On the top step was the front page of the last issue of the Budapest Record: 'Godless Soviets Enter City, Churches burned'.
The echo of laughter trains off to the east amidst thunder and lightning from a cloudless night.
Meanwhile in the headquarters of London and Berlin a distinguished set of letters was presented to those countries' Chief Military Advisors from the 'Imperial War College' of Transylvania. The ancient script on the letters recognized by those whose position is only obtained by the most extensive combination of field experiences and studies of the Great Captains of the Golden Age. The call for the Grand Alliance will not be denied.

APR 1917 – WINTER PALACE DENIES BURNING CHURCHES IN BUDAPEST
"The URRR have nothing to do with Soviet. The Revolutionary Army in Budapest is distributing foodstuffs and medicines to the population.
The Army is respecting any religious institutions, according to URRR's custom.
We invite any Swiss president's delegate to come to Budapest to make certain all civil right are inviolate.
The Reactionary governments have just lied again."

APR 1917 – HUNGARIANS REVOLTED BY SLAVIC INSULTS BY RUSSIANS
Vienna - EDItorial Free Press - Reports smuggled in from the Hungarian front down the Danube indicate a massive wave of counter reaction against the unfounded and illegal occupation of the Hungarian people by the Russian hordes. 'This is just like 1849 when the barbarian heretic Russians came to squash our freedom.' was a comment from one of the Roman Catholic priests leading a 'Liberty Mass' in the forests. 'These Russians have called us Slavs or Slobs, we are Hungarians. It is us who died rather than accept the Mongol hordes that the Russians licked the boots of. It is us who saved all of Europe by stopping the Tartars by our refusal to bow to their treachery, while the Russians raised their hind quarters to Tara Bulba and his ilk. We will have nothing to do with their Slavic Slobbering Empire, we are Hungarians free and true. It took us hundreds of years to work out an equal accord with the Austrians to form this great Dual Crown Empire of Austro-Hungary and we shall not allow the spreaders of chaos and deceit to occupy our holy Catholic Lands. Freedom we pray, Freedom we live, Freedom we will fight for!!!" as cheers from the forest gathering sprang up the people broke out into the opening lines of the Hungarian national anthem.

APR 1917 – AUSTRIAN NOBLES CALL FOR RESIGNATION OF AUSTRIAN LEADERSHIP
Rick, New York Post - April 28, 1917
In the wake of a year of disaster for the Hapsburgs, a group of nobles, including almost all of the now-dispossessed Hungarian contingent, have called for a change of leadership in the government of Austria-Hungary.

“Our Prime Minister is the greatest of fools”, said Duke Brankovic, one of the leaders of the opposition. “With the Ottoman Collapse last year, and the concentration of Russian units on our eastern frontier, it was obvious to nearly everyone that we would be next to feel the Russian’s swords. But instead of guarding our hard-won gains, the only thing our Prime Minister was interested in, was redeploying against Italy, a nation who we had no business fighting in the first place. When Russia marched into our Galician provinces last spring, when they invaded our nation with no other destination possible than our home centers, again our Prime Minister did worse than nothing, he moved to liberate Tyrolia from the skeleton garrison that Deutschland left behind a year ago!”

Backed by twenty other nobles, the Duke continued. “Now, here in the spring, we find that the Russians have built still more armies, to move against us. We have Italy to our back, and Russia to our front. Germany is distracted and France is all but taken. The only hope we have is to push for an immediate change in leadership, one more interested in retaking what is rightly ours, than in doing whatever its Russian masters decree. We make this public appeal in the hope that the leader of the opposition, Third Minister Edi, take over our beleaguered nation and save it from the Russian onslaught before the Italians and Russians destroy us all.”

When contacted about this appeal, the Prime Minister’s office made a statement that they are fully in control of the war effort and that negotiations with other powers to assist Austria are ongoing. Third Minister Edi, currently in transit from London to Vienna, was not available for comment.

MAY 1917 – FRENCH ADMIRALTY AGAINST BRITAIN
The notice of the English war declaration didn't surprise the French government and our Prime Minister Fabio. They invaded our territory last year, and we weren't ready to strike back. Only cowards attack a nation under a right new government. Because of the great danger that the English fleets and armies represent, the French government decided to move anywhere else. The destination is top secret, so each traitor will die under the blade of our guillotine. To the English Prime Minister, we say only one thing: We will strike back, anywhere, where you will not expect the attack of our troops. I can surely say, that each nation that will support the English government and/or their troops, will have the whole French population as enemy.
Keep your powder dry, in future...

JUN 1917 – PARTISANS DESTROY MAIN RUSSIAN SUPPLY DUMP, ENSURE FREEDOM OF HUNGARY — BUT FOR HOW LONG?
Rick, New York Post - Late June, 1917 – Vienna
The mood in the capital is grim. The Russian-Italian Alliance has all but encircled the Austria-Hungary Empire. One entire army has been destroyed in an attempted breakout from Greece, and the Italians have advanced all along the entire front, from Tyrolia through Croatia, Bosnia, Albania, Macedonia, and Greece. Only in Hungary has the Empire seen success.
Stories have reached Vienna that the key to Austria’s sole victory was a band of partisans who infiltrated the main Russian supply dump northeast of Budapest and set off a “Titanic” explosion one hour before the main artillery barrage was launched across the Croatian front. The partisans were reportedly killed by the series of explosions, which went far beyond anyone’s wildest expectations.
Action continues in Northern Hungary, as the supply-depleted Russian army attempts to fall back towards Galicia, where stockpiles of food and ammunition await. Rail lines between the front and these supplies are being disrupted intermittently by other bands of partisans, leaving the fate of the Russian army in doubt. It is still possible, says the Austrian High Command, that the URRR army may still be encircled, should the bad weather of the last week hold. If not, and the Russian army escapes to Galicia, then the encirclement of Austria-Hungary will be complete.
Although the Austrian government is still optimistic, the people are not. With the front lines on all sides now, the people have nowhere to flee, so there are surprisingly few refugees. Independent experts agree that although it is unlikely that all of the remainingforces of Austria-Hungary can be destroyed this summer and fall, it is certainly possible. By this time next summer, the experts feel, Austria-Hungary will no longer exist.

JUL 1917 – IN A SPEECH TO VETERANS MATTEO SENDS MESSAGES TO EUROPEAN POWERS
Dear friends,
some bands of outlaws, supported by the reactionary Austrian government, attack our barracks in Budapest and they sabotaged many facilities.
Our Army could withstand to the enemy, but we preferred to take a more prudent attitude.
Taking an urban guerrilla warfare was too risk for the civil population.
Hence our army was retreating in Galizia, waiting orders from the Triumvirate.[...]
[...]The Austrian enemy is ringed and it refuses any arms negotiations.
We are in close contact with the Italian Prime Minister and we are going to solve this trouble together with 6 months.
An alliance between our countries is at hand [...]
[...]Our government is contacting the British PM to find an agreement in Scandinavia in order to avoid further bloodshed.[...]

DEC 1917 – THE CHRISTMAS MIRACLE
Rick, New York Post – Vienna
As the snow falls over the capital, there is a holiday spirit among the people. Supplies are tight as the embargo to outside goods holds over Austria-Hungary, but shoppers try to make do. Though there remains a shortage of meat, the crops from Hungary this past autumn were surprisingly good, the more so since the war left most of Austria-Hungary’s breadbasket alone this fall.

The surprisingly good fortunes of the Austrian-Hungarian fortunes can be largely explained by three factors. First and foremost, Italy decided to consolidate her gains from the spring, and did not assault Vienna even though she certainly had the resources to do so. Whether this is because Vienna was promised to the URRR, or because Italy decided that holding Trieste was a bigger priority, is not known at this time. Partisan activity in Trieste and Tyrol, unlike in Hungary last summer, failed to achieve any major gains, so the counteroffensive from the Austrian army south of Vienna stalled under the heavy guns of Italy in the Croatian highlands. The successful attack of the French Foreign Legion on Tunis in late August doubtless influenced Italy to focus more attention on her Mediterranean holdings, as her fleet based in Durres, Albania immediately sailed for the Ionian Sea, backed by elements of the Italian Greek fleet. In a show of force but no shots fired in anger, the URRR Eastern Mediterranean Fleet came within range of the Italian fleet. The two fleets reportedly engaged in joint maneuvers for three days before the Greek and Eastern Mediterranean forces returned to their deployment areas.

In the capital, the people are encourage, as they feel that this new threat from southeast and west, Italy may now have an incentive to make peace with Austria, at least until France is defeated, and any breathing room Austria can get, they are willing to take.

The second factor which helped Austria-Hungary was the redeployment of additional URRR resources to the battle against Germany. In what turned out to be an unnecessary move, the URRR army based in Prague moved her forces west into Bavaria, scuttling an attempted move into Berlin by the army there but otherwise taking no ground. The November 1st Battle of Pommersche Bucte, in which the Germany Kiel Navy was unable to break through the Russian Baltic Battle Fleet (which also contained the cruiser squadrons of the Swedish URRR Fleet) to the vulnerable transports, allowed the amphibious landing of the URRR Livonian army. This army, having bypassed Germany’s fixed defenses on the west bank of the Oder River, swept into Brandenburg and occupied Berlin before the German army, which had deployed to Silesia to stop an expected assault from Bohemia or Galicia, could return. However, both the Kiel fleet and the Russian battle fleet were severely damaged in the engagement, forcing the URRR force back to port in Stettin for repairs. England took advantage of the damage to the Baltic fleet to move her naval elements along the coast, making an early December attack on Sweden possible. Facing impossible odds, the URRR Swedish fleet nevertheless sailed and met the British in the Battle of Gotland Bank on December 6th, 1917. Lacking her cruisers, her main battle line fell victim to the torpedo boat squadrons of the English navy and she was forced to retreat in the failing light towards her base in Stettin. Behind her were the sinking wrecks of four of her finest battleships, which had only taken one British battleship in return. Lacking major opposition, the English navy occupied Stockholm the next day, to the great relief of her people, according to reports from Stockholm.

The implications of Russia’s deployment of so much force to the north, is a matter of speculation to many people. It appears that even with Germany’s forced occupation of Belgium, which is a violation of England’s treaty with Belgium and theoretically is a casus belli for England against Germany, that Germany will still be too short on supplies to maintain all of her present forces in the field. Given the Russian assault and the fact that next spring Warsaw is potentially open to a move from the German army in Silesia, most people think that England and Germany will remain allied and the German army in western France will be the one to go, thus relieving some of the pressure from Russia on Austria-Hungary’s northern front.

The final factor which likely saved Austria-Hungary was her series of battlefield victories against the URRR in September and October of 1917, particularly her two-pronged assault on Russia’s supply lines in Rumania. During the late weeks of September and the early weeks of October, the Austrian army based in Hungary surprisingly defeated the URRR in a surprise attack on the border city of Brasov in the Transylvanian Alps on September 17-18, 1917. The army followed up the northern Rumanian force and penetrated to the outskirts of Ploesti by September 30, disabling its critical refineries. As the northern Rumanian army was reinforced with troops from western Walachia and Bucharest, by October 5 it became clear to the Hungarian command that they could not hold, so they fell back across the Transylvanian Alps just in time to man their defense lines in northern Hungary. The Serbian army, whose objective was reportedly Bucharest, made little ground, being held on the Jis river line west of Craiova. However, this was a mixed blessing, both because it tied up key components of the Rumanian army, and because then they were in place to maneuver southwest back into Serbia, and defeat the URRR Bulgarian army at the Battle of Nis in southeastern Serbia on October 14. The heavily-mauled URRR Galician army, which might have been able to penetrate to Budapest and beyond had she attacked in September, didn’t launch its main offensive until October 15, by which time the dug-in Hungarian army held the URRR force at a line north of the cities of Salgotarjan-Miscolk-Nyiregyhaza through mid-November, when the URRR army fell back on all fronts to their staging areas in Bulgarian and Galicia.

Given the uncertainties among the other nations at war, none of whom seem to have solid alliances with one another, the mood in Austria is hopeful. Hopeful that Italy will see the threat from Russia and France and make peace, hopeful that Russia will continue to have failures in battle in the south and north alike, and hopeful that Germany, who is now fully engaged with Russia, will find a way to coordinate with Austria to help defend her from the URRR. The people here know that their hopes hang upon a brittle thread, that they remain encircled and besieged. But they endure, they say, and that itself is their Christmas miracle. So it may indeed be.

JAN 1918 - GERMAN ARMY LOSES WAY IN BURGUNDY WINDS UP IN BELGIUMWW I
(Brussels, Austrian Press Service)
The appearance of the German army in Brussels was more than a surprise to the British Counsel here and the entire diplomatic community, it was also an apparent shock to the German troops themselves! Early contacts by the British border guards revealed that the Germans had maps of the Paris subways and various lists of house address and rather obscene French 'Verb Cards'. The initial comment by the first squad encountered was a rather beer induced drinking song something about "Would You Desire to go and throw a Couch with me."

The German embassy here was equally stunned by the troops and had no idea how to explain it. The ambassador's dispatches from the telegraph station was intercepted by the New York Times reporters after the exchange of a few francs and pommes frits and published in a local railroad magazine by mistake: "What is the Third Army doing in Brussels? Stop. They have no orders idea where they are. Stop. They are all drunk. Stop. They will not share their beer. Stop. Which is how we know they were German soldiers. Stop. The English are very mad as they do not like real beer. Stop. Stella Artois has lodged a protest over the demands of the soldiers for Becks. Stop. All prior messages to Berlin have not been answered. Stop. In fact rather than stop can you START. The world is watching.

FEB 1918 - GOVERNMENTS FALL IN AUSTRIA, ITALY
Rick, New York Post - Late February, 1917 - Rome

Of all the conflicts going on in Europe, it could be argued that none are being fought more fiercely than that between Austria-Hungary and Italy. Under the leadership of Enrico A. and Daniel P., the two nations have fought indecisively for several years. In the elections of 1917-1918, the voters of both nations expressed their discontent for the state of the war by throwing out both of their incumbent Prime Ministers.

In Austria, the Hungarian faction made all the difference. The Hungarian Army, under the leadership of General Duke Brankovic since May, successfully engaged and defeated two separate URRR armies and freed Hungary. Unwilling to leave command of his armies personally, polls of the people of Hungary indicate that they will vote as a block for Duke Brankovic’s choice for Prime Minister, former Second Minister Joshka. Last April he came out in public support of Third Minister Edi, but in a negotiated deal, command of the then-Trieste Army was transferred to Duke Brankovic in return for dropping his support of Third Minister Edi, who reportedly was unhappy with the performance of then Prime-Minister Heinrich von Agamemnon, but who didn’t want the PM job either with the nation on the brink of destruction. Second Minister Joshka, whose appointment as Minister of the Navy had become rather pointless as Austria-Hungary no longer has a coastline, became the effective leader of the opposition, funneling naval artillery ammunition and stockpiles towards General Duke Brankovic’s Hungarian army as the autumn campaign season progressed. That he made the most of it, in contrast with Minister of War Heinrich von Agamennon’s Austrian army, only served to unite the Hungarian people’s opposition to anything involving the intractable, ineffective War Minister. This block of votes was too great for the divided Austrian voter block to overcome and as 1918 dawned, it was clear that Austria-Hungary was to have a new leader. Whether this leader can continue to reign in the face of two hostile nations encircling him remains to be seen, but even Prime Minister Joska’s opponents have little choice that he could do better diplomatically than Heinrich von Agamemnon. It is hard to believe that he could do any worse.

Given the fortunes of the war in Austria-Hungary, it was not surprising that the government fell in the elections of 1917-1918. The same cannot be said of Italy. Had the election been held only six months before, there is no doubt that former Prime Minister Daniel P. would have won in a landslide victory. As time went on, however, jubilation at Italy’s magnificent offensive in June 1917 slowly turned to dismay that Prime Minister Daniel P. squandered his opportunities and in fact issued no orders at all to his armies in the field for the remainder of the year. Army commanders, with no orders, stood their ground and destroyed hundreds of partisans, when Vienna could have been theirs. As the fall turned into winter, thousands of protesters descended upon Rome in favor of Second Minister Israel, whose navies stopped a URRR incursion into the Ionian Sea and stopped any further advance of France past the African coast. The debacle in Tunis was also revealed to be due to the Prime Minister’s refusal to send adequate supplies from Sicily to the Tunisian garrison, even though the navy was prepared to transport them. As a result, even the lightly-armed French Foreign Legion was able to overrun the skeleton force he had left. The Vatican City, patrolled by the Swiss Guard, has managed to keep the protestors away, but the rest of the city came to a standstill, as the election cycle reached its peak.

The election appeared to to be Second Minister Israel’s to lose. Third Minister Sebastian, who led the opposition, was running second in the polls behind Israel. The turning point came when the now very unpopular Prime Minister publicly asked the Naval Minister for his endorsement—and instead got a rejection, as Second Minister Israel declined the opportunity to be Prime Minister and instead endorsed the opposition leader, Sebastian. This calmed the crowds, which went home almost anticlimactically and voted by almost a two to one margin to elect Prime Minister Sebastian.

With new leaders in both Rome and Vienna, the rest of the world waits to see how they will interact. The URRR has made no public statement but sources who wish to remain anonymous are highly alarmed at the prospect that Italy may change sides and go to war with Russia over the former Ottoman provinces of Turkey. This would align all four remaining powers against her, so diplomatic traffic between Moscow and Rome has reportedly been heavy in the days since the election results were announced.
In contrast, the election season in England was relatively sedate. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Bruno, Britain’s fortunes have been universally good, such that she neither has nor needs a single army or navy on her shores. “If we fight them overseas”, said the Prime Minister in a campaign rally, “We need never fight them here!” Opposition to Bruno was light, scattered, and ineffective. Similarly, elections in Germany resulted in an easy win for Prime Minister Llibert, whose third minister resigned rather than face him and whose second minister has made it clear he is not interested in the job. Although third party candidates dominated the elections in overall numbers, their failure to form a coalition government left Prime Minister Llibert the ruler of Germany for another term. Since much of the opposition party’s election base was in and around Berlin, this was not entirely surprising—the few remaining members of that party privately question whether it was by incompetence or intent that Berlin fell last fall. However, no one will go on the record, at the Prime Minister’s request holding a show of unity in a time of national crisis.

APR 1918 – PRESS RELEASE – WOLF TELEGRAFIKA
Hamelin, State of Hesse. April 1918.

The war seldom touches the rich and famous. Factory workers and peasants in German gray take up arms and fight the Kaiser's war while the mothers and sweethearts bear the hard news. But today it seems that the aristocracy too may have been struck by the war of Russian Aggression.

Loyal readers remember that our lead correspondent Wolf Blitzer was on his way to cover the annual royal wild boar hunt in East Prussia. The obvious risk involved in such an event not 20 miles from the battle lines was outweighed by the possibility that this bravery would lift the spirits of the nation.
Instead, the nation is in shock over rumors that virtually the entire government may have become casualties of the war that many say it brought upon itself in the first place.

Unconfirmed rumors from the east suggest that the hunting party may in the thrill of the chase have found itself behind enemy lines; or perhaps that a major Russian cavalry in search of German food to replace the miserable ration of beetroots ended up rounding up the hunting party and a large pile of boar and deer instead. One way or another, nothing has been heard from the council of ministers or from Wolf Blitzer himself since last month.

Baron von Brown, a junior minister without portfolio and leader of the 5-seat delegation of the Wurtemburg Free Party, intends to visit the royal palace to seek the Kaiser's permission to form a temporary working group to organize the search for the missing politicians and to run the essential organs of government until the former ministers can be recovered. Why "intends"? In this emergency, why not today? Another casualty of the hunting trip: the Royal Appointments Secretary.

APR 1918 – WEATHER IN SWITZERLAND: COMMUNICATIONS CUT OFF
The World Reknown Swiss Monitor - Bern - April 1918 - The worst spring storm of the last 120 years is reported to be going on in Central Switzerland. All communications have been cut and the Capital, as long as other northern cities, will remain isolated from the rest of the world for at least 48 hours, say weather officials from Lugano station. Reportedly, the Swiss President and the Government are trying to cross the Alps.

MAY 1918 – BRITISH DECLARATION ON PORTUGAL
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland and Portugal have a historical and strong alliance since the XII century, when the Treaty of Windsor was signed.
During the Napoleonic Wars, the United Kingdom protected Portugal and its royal family in the time that they were in Brazil.
In 1904, Portugal and United Kingdom has signed the second Treaty of Windsor that reaffirmed the alliance between both countries, and that is still working until today.
So, under the rule of this Treaty, the longest alliance of the world, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland has to defend Portugal.
As, since 1914, Portugal was suffering with foreign troops inside its territory, causing a loss in its sovereignty, we were forced to send troops there in a way to bring Portugal back to normality, and to reconstruct its sovereignty.

JUL 1918 - BERLIN - NEWS FROM THE FRONT - SMASHING GERMAN VICTORY IN BATTLE OF POTSDAM
Little remains of the market and industral city of Potsdam, center of fierce fighting this summer as the German reclaimed its capital. Frederick the Great's own Potsdam Grenadiers, famous for their 2 meter-plus height, would have stood tall to see the gallant German boys in thunderous artillery duels and house-to-house combat as they evicted the murderers and looters of the oppressionist so-called Workers Paradise. An entire Russian army scuttled like rats back to the border as German troops liberated their families and houses - what was left of them.

Tales of atrocities linger. Russian soldiers stole all the women's fur coats and used the bathtubs for ashtrays. The nekkulturny comrades were even seen to put tomato ketchup on genuine white veal sausage. Prime Minister General Llibert, himself a Berliner by adoption after his many years of public service, wept to hear of the desecration of his sausage dog, which the clueless Commies cooked and ate before they found out that it was not some sort of chicken that laid little sausages. Fortunately several of them found and served several of the little sausages that the dog had laid to Field Marshal Matteo and his staff, which may explain the army's lack of leadership during the battle.

Foreign Minister Admiral von Braun praised the co-operation of the army and navy in defending Kiel from further aggression. "We offered the Russians peace and friendship if they returned quietly to their country. Insolently they invited us to a peace conference in Prague last spring and their diplomats failed to show up. Perhaps they were over-confident after their sneak attack across undefended borders into Germany in 1915. So, this year they have launched major attacks against Italy and Germany, and are still contesting the self-determination of the Nordic peoples in Scandinavia. They got their noses bloody this year because they had to stand up and fight the brave allies instead of being able to stab them in the back as they have done already to Turkey, Austria, Germany and Italy".

Ambassador Alex returned from conferences in England to report that the English defense of Sweden was also successful. The English, with their American cousins, are looking into precedents for war crimes trials if the Russian government is captured. "This continent has not seen aggressive warfare since the Europeans worked together to throw out the Mussulmans in the 1500's, and we must not tolerate it now", Prime Minister Bruno commented.

Prime Minister Llibert says his recent gratitude to the Russian Army for returning him from the hunting accident has diminished since Army communnications experts discovered that the pieces of auto wreckage in his head were in fact tiny radio crystals, apparently implanted by the Russians while the PM was unconscious. PM Llibert, in an address in the newly-restored Reichstag building, urged the minor powers to drop their petty squabbles and band together to prevent further aggression by the Trotskyite despots. "Russia is strong", he said, "but together we can stand up to them. Look at little Germany, with only 5 armies, fighting for its life against the 10 armies of Russia. So now there are only 9. If each of us do this, we can put the Communists where they belong - not just within their borders, but into jail cells or insane asylums, and return the power to the peace-loving Russian people. Now that Austria has recovered her seaport of Trieste, perhaps she will forget Italy's attacks, perhaps Italy will leave Austria alone and consider acquisring new lands in Turkey instead, and perhaps France will work with the rest of us to destroy Russia's southern fleets. What we need is a coalition of the willng to enforce a regime change in an unstable country to rid the world of dangerous despots."

Now that Germany has successfully defended itself, the newly-formed League of Nations debated sending a strongly-worded communique to Moscow, but could not agree on the wording, and decided instead to censure Germany for taking up arms against communist aggression instead of negotiating the surrender of the rest of its cities.

Kaiser Wilhelm plans a visit to his cousin George, King of England, in the immediate future to discuss co-operation in the northern theater.

AUG 1918 – POPOV AIRFIELD INAUGURATED IN MOSCOW
“Citizens, I’m very proud and very honoured to be re-elected as 1st triumvir.
Our nation got many successes during these years, but we have to work still very hard.
The revolution must go. Our boys are fighting far-off in order that many people are free and it is an honour dieing for the other people’s live […]

During these years, the National Revolutionary Committee tried to avoid conflicts.
Unfortunately the imperialistic nations preferred to shed innocent blood rather than sharing their own privileges.
For this reason we had to punish the Italian government and now our fleet docks in the Ulysses’ harbour.
The Greeks found freedom again.
Anyway after some incidents it seems we found the way for the peace with the Germany and our ambassadors are working to find an agreement with the British government.
I hope it will be more sincere than in the past, although I don’t understand the reason of its army in Norway. Hence we have no option but to build a fleet in the Artic region in order to defend our homes.[…]

I hope to see the end of the war during this tenure.
That day not the URRR will have won, but the freedom. […]

I would seize the opportunity to do the best wishes for a speedy recovery at my revolutionary friend, supporter of our cause, that lives beyond the Atlantic Ocean ”

AUG 1918 – PUBLIC PRESS FROM KIEV
"[…] Citizens, it's a national mourning day. Many valorous soldiers died in Berlin in order that local inhabitants save their own freedom.
We didn't want to happen this tragedy and we tried in the past a diplomatic solution during a meeting in Prague.
Anyway the reactionary and dictatorial German regime preferred the war than the peace.
So, many citizens, Russian and German, died.

What can we tell about the British behaviour? We tried a diplomatic solution also with them.
As matter as fact we met with a British delegation in Reykjavik but they fell short of expectations.
We learned to know the liars and , fortunately, we safeguarded ourselves.[…]
[…]. The war of the people goes on, citizens. We have to bring hope to the European people, although the reactionary Press accuse them of crimes that we didn't commit.
They named us thieves…defilers…Let's not listen to them!
We will fight in order that every European people have the same opportunities that we have today.
We can only hope that the Peace conference will be convened as soon as possible.
Our reasons will predominate in that venue."

AUG 1918 – WASHINGTON COMPOST - BELGIANS WAFFLE!! - BOND WITH BRITISH BOGUS??
Hank Honker, staff writer
Washington Compost staffers have obtained evidence that our European friends, always in love with the stuffy, pointless and unproductive kibuki dance of French-inspired international diplomacy, are in fact the dupes of a massive fraud. If not for all the thousands of dead European outhes that have given up their lives for this misunderstanding, it would be almost funny, a true case study as to why we Americans think our European friends are just a little too wrapped up in their traditions and a little too divorced for reality.

In an exclusive interview with Hank Honker, young Crown Prince Leopold of Belgium, honored today as the top graduating student at prestigious Slippery Rock State University, revealed astonishment that the military operations in his home country have been attributed to the so-called Treaty of Brussels published in June of 1914.

As we discussed the state of European affairs the prince was saddened that his homeland has been subjected to the claims of various countries. "This Treaty of Brussels", he said, "I never heard of. I know my family and friends were very pleased when the Germans came to visit and made it possible for us to restore our Flemish traditions after so long domination by the French minority. Anyway it is impossible that my father King Albert signed this treaty in June of 1914 because he was here helping me get established in as a student and the rest of the family moved to the US to avoid the war that he saw shaping up. All summer long the family was here together".

The Belgian embassy was reluctant to confirm this until the US Immigration and Naturalization Service confirmed that King Albert and family had entered the US in 1914 and in fact none have yet departed, although nobody would provide a contact for the King himself. However, the Belgian embassy did more or less conced the truth of the story. Hans Breugel, a senior embassy official, observed, "With the new Flemish administration in Belgium running smoothly, there is perhaps no reason for the Royal family to subject the country to the terrible morale crisis if they were to be injured or lost in an accident of war".

On further investigation Hank Honker has determined that the "Treaty" has only been published once: in a news article in the London Times. Looks to the Compost that our cousin John Bull has been feeding his fellow Europeans - well, a bit of the old Bull.

Be sure to follow the remaining articles in this investigative series by Hank Honker as he travels to Scandinavia to determine the whereabouts of King Haakon, purported signator of the Oslo Treaty.

”In my first interview with the Kaiser while discussing the formation of a new government, he has indicated that he strongly desires to end the pointless bloodshed that has gripped our continent, and he hopes that those who launched these aggressive wars will decide to think better. Germany supports the call for a peace conference.

Our armies are newly energized after taking the spring off for retraining, and are ready to defend Germany against all who wish us harm, but after the years of pointless warfare, we would prefer to get our crops in the field over the summer and settle down to a peaceful Christmas (which at least we can all enjoy now that our good neighbor Russia has erased the Ottoman imams from Europe).

JUL 1919 – THE GERMAN CHANCELLOR’S CABINET - WOLF TELEGRAFIKA
Berlin, July 1919 - Lead Correspondent Blitzer Wolf

Since the collapse of the generally hoped-for peace conference, the Kaiser fears that Germany cannot prosecute the war effectively without a functioning government. The Kaiser has demanded the immediate re-organization of the government and restoration of morale among the armed forces.

As it happened, Baron von Braun was the only member of the government in Berlin when the phone call came and so he has been appointed by the Kaiser as the Prime Minister to lead this restoration of order. The Baron is stunned by this tremendous responsibility but promises to do his best at this time of Germany's need. In view of the heavy casualties among the Prussian Junker class as a result of the 5 long years of senseless warfare, the Kaiser has authorized the PM to consider seeking political and administrative leadership from among the most talented members of the burgher class. In the meantime, PM Von Braun will depend on the existing group of exhausted but dedicated public servants to lend their expertise so that the new government can prepare the nation to continue the defense of the homeland.

The Kaiser has reminded us of Frederick the Great's observation that war is an extension of politics by other means. The first reorganization will be to temporarily combine the War Office and Foreign Office into one department to provide an integrated view to the rest of the world. The new PM is taking as his top and personal priority the founding and administration of the Department of Public Policy until a suitably experienced German patriot can be located to take on this massive responsibility. The length of this combined department will depend on how quickly it takes the diplomatic corps and the generals to figure out how to work together for general peace and prosperity while ensuring public safety.

The Prime Minister has called on veteran politician Llibert to serve as Second Minister and to take command of the fleet. To familiarize him with his new nautical career (and let him escape the pressures of new children at home) he has elected to serve his duties at his post aboard his flagship, presently at sea in the Helgoland Gulf.

The Prime Minister has also called on the long and distinguished career of Alex, until recently Ambassador to the Court of St. James in London.
Ambassador Alex has been requested to serve the nation as the Third Minister, National Security Advisor, and Deputy Director of the Department of Public Policy to provide his long knowledge to the new government. As such he will also serve in the national command center in a secret bunker from which, should misfortune befall the primary command center, he will be able to maintain control of the forces in the field and/or communicate with foreign powers as needed.

AUG 1919 – ADMIRAL LLIBERT FEARED LOST AT SEA
WOLF TELEGRAFIKA
Berlin, August 1919
Carrying out the Kaiser's wishes to restore the German forces to an effective level of readiness, former Prime Minister Llibert has been exercising his leadership of the German navy with an intensive series of maneuvers in the Helgoland Gulf. In an unexpected storm the new admiral was swept overboard. The flagship (after all Germany only has one ship), under the command of Captain Christian, has been searching for the former PM but after 3 days all hope is considered lost.

With foreign armies and fleets operating in all directions around Germany, the Prime Minister decided to leave the situation under Captain Christian's control rather than seek to install another political appointee. At a press conference in the Reichstag the Prime Minister announced the appointment of Captain Christian as Second Minister and Admiral of the Fleet.
The PM was most proud of the brand-new telephone with which he called the Captain to inform him of the appointment; the line to the fleet base in Kiel has just been reconnected after replacing all the copper that the occupying Russian troops stole in 1916-1
